Faccenda Foods guarantees £7 per hour pay rate

Brackley, UK – Faccenda Foods, one of the UK’s leading food companies with a turnover of over £400m, has confirmed that all of its employees are now paid a minimum of £7 per hour. Commenting on the pay guarantee, Faccenda Foods Managing Director Andy Dawkins said,
“Fair pay is fundamental to Faccenda Foods’ commitment to providing a great experience to our customers. Only a highly skilled, motivated workforce that takes responsibility for the food they produce can provide the consumer with innovative, high quality fresh and convenience food every day.”
Faccenda Foods’ £7 per hour pay guarantee follows other people initiatives in recent years including, a focus on permanent secure employment, strong training initiatives and excellent communications. Faccenda Foods HR & Communications Director Andrew Brodie commented,
“We have had a strong reward offer for many years, but taking this stance for all roles – including apprenticeships and agency positions – ensures consistency across our business, puts down a clear marker, and gives real clarity to our position as an Employer Of Choice.”
The approach was endorsed by the GMB union, which has worked in partnership with Faccenda Foods for over 12 years. Union Organiser Stuart Richards said,
“It’s great to see a major food manufacturing business taking this stance and it is one of the reasons we have had such a strong working relationship with Faccenda Foods for many years.”
Faccenda Foods believes this approach pays real dividends, with low staff turnover and significant lengths of service across its 3,000 employees. Through internal pay structures all employees have the opportunity to progress to higher rates of pay.
“Only 5% of employees at Faccenda are paid £7 per hour as a basic rate and the majority of these will have move on to higher rates in 3 – 6 months,”
added Brodie. “It’s clearly the right approach for us and our customers” said Dawkins. “We remain committed to investing in our people because we know how vital it is for our growth strategy and future success in the food sector.”
